Media Diet – October 2023

This month I watched some good video essays, Why We Can’t Stop Mapping Elden Ring by Ren or Raven, This is Financial Advice by Folding Ideas, and How Can We Bear to Throw Anything Away? by Jacob Geller. All of these are fantastic in their own way and worth a watch.

I also finished up season 3 of Ted Lasso. Turns out just there was just the season finale left. I very much enjoyed this season and I definitely liked this season more than the second one which felt a little lost in the woods at some points.

I read three books this month, as winter looms over us I am feeling an ever increasing desire to stay home, listen to music and read a good book. I read On Antisemitism, Heroic Hearts, and What You Are Looking For is in the Library. All of these are good and well worth reading. I am already in the middle of another book which I will mention in next month’s media diet post.

As far as video games go, I’ve been slowly continuing my playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, I decided to do as much of the side quests I can stand before progressing further into the main story. I also picked up Cities: Skylines 2 which was a game I was very excited about and was quickly reminded about the realities that some games face upon release, a buggy non-performant mess of a game that I see a lot of potential in. Ah well, we’ll see how patches improve the game in the future.

That’s all from me this month, see y’all next month.
