I first read a Becky Chambers book, the first book in her Wayfarers series back in 2022 during my reading challenge. I think it was the only book that year that I finished in one sitting. It was that good.

Every once in a while I took a look at the various services I self-host and think to myself? Is hosting $X service by myself really worth the cost? What is the cost? Would paying someone to host said service be more cost efficient?

That got me thinking about, what are the costs of self hosting? Let’s talk about it.

This book came out on the 16th of January, I started reading it on the 17th and was done by the 18th. I just absolutely devoured this book. It was entirely possible that I could have finished the book on the 17th if I had not stopped myself from continuing.
