Notes
Lots of video games related links in this one! I just happened to be reading a lot of video games stuff over the last couple weeks. That said there are a few non-video game thing in there.
The article on HouseFresh is an interesting (and depressing) look at the reality of being an independent site on the web nowadays. Google Search is a shitshow of a product that is getting worse by the month and anything on it can’t be trusted due to massive amounts of SEO gaming by big media corps who own a bunch of sites.
Vice.com as an entity is well and truly dead now. Killed by the ever hungry malice of capitalism. There are a lot of thoughts about what happened there, I wanted to share this one on 404 Media which is made up of folks who used to work for Vice.
When I first became a journalist, my dad used to cut my articles out of the local newspaper and put them into a binder, which is an act of love that I thought was silly at the time but right now makes me cry.

The article about Kazuma Kiryu has spoilers for Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, don’t read it if you don’t want to be spoiled on the game. The article perfectly captures my thoughts on that aspect on Infinite Wealth.
Halo is in this weird place where it’s trying to be a show about the game that millions of people know — badass Spartans kicking the asses of giant lizards carrying laser swords — but it’s also trying to show all the stuff that happened before the Halo games pick up the story, before Spartan John-117 becomes the Master Chief. It’s juggling so many different parts and isn’t succeeding fully with any of them. In its second season, it still feels like a show that hasn’t really begun, even though it’s in full swing.Â

Yeah, and the Halo TV show still sucks which is 0% surprising to me. The first season sucked and I was not optimistic the show would figure itself out by the second season.
That’s all from me, see y’all later!
