Influx of In Flux: A Life Update

Life is a strangely beautiful song. The last few months of mine have been quite tumultuous to put it mildly. There have been dramatic shifts in ways of thinking and living for me that have thankfully resulted in me living a life that is more fulfilling in every way. This is not to say there haven’t been difficulties but I have come out the other end a person with more clarity about myself and the world.

Returning to A Different Way of Life

I have been on vacation from my day job for the last weeks; I write this on the day before I return to my day job. For the first week of my vacation I took a trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada by myself. This is the second of such trips, a new tradition of mine – a trip to a different place in the world every year for my birthday. This way I get to explore a different part of the world, get a nice change of pace and I get to give myself the most treasured gift for my birthday each year – new experiences.

Last year, I went to Orlando, Florida, USA. The primary purpose of that trip was to meet my best friend Cristian in person for the first time. It was a lovely trip and a time I will cherish for years to come. Orlando itself is a place I wouldn’t mind returning to every once in a while. While the Florida weather is not ideal for me, there is plenty of good food and other culture there for me to enjoy,

Halifax on the other hand is more up my alley. Its a smaller city, not too large as to be overwhelming but not too small to have nothing interesting in it to do. The sweet spot for me. It is also by the Atlantic Ocean and I love being by the sea, breathing in the salt in the air. Reminds me of my time as a child going by the waterfront in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I stayed at the Lord Nelson hotel which is right across from the Halifax Gardens. This garden is an old school Victorian style garden that has been maintained since the 1800s. It is a lovely place to relax, drink a coffee and listen to and watch birds, beautiful trees and flowers.

I remarked to myself while on the ferry from Dartmouth to Halifax that I would love to live in Halifax. And I would. It is a lovely city with everything I could possibly want. Good culture, nature, and people.

I returned home to Toronto from my Halifax trip reinvigorated body and mind both. While I love Halifax and will almost certainly return there sometime, I missed Toronto. There is nothing quite like home.

Creativity, Technology and My Plans

Ever since my mental breakthroughs in August 2024, my creative side has been fired up and I have a lot of buns in the oven so to speak on that front. Some of which have already been started.

Photogaphy

I have started focusing more on my photography hobby. I bought a iPhone 16 Pro Max before I left for Halifax and it is currently my primary camera. I have started selling some of the best photos I take over on SmugMug.

Videography

I have also just dipped my toes into the world of video. This is especially exciting for me as I have never done video before so it is all very new to me. I am putting my video work in two places – YouTube, and also my personal PeerTube instance. My next goal is to start making videos about my reading hobby.

Sex Work

Also extremely exciting is me getting started on sex work, I now have a Fansly profile along with a Throne profile. I also have a bunch more plans for further adventures into sex work that I’m working on. This also ties along with my explorations of video as some of the sex work will involve videos!

Audio Work

Of course as some of y’all are aware, I have long been in the world of audio, namely podcasts and I am excited to announced that my voice memos project is now its own separate project with its own site on Ghost and the voice memos themselves are a podcast. You can find them here.

Ghost has been a pleasure to work with as a creative and I was able to get started really quickly! Looking forward to putting more voice memos on there.

As for my other podcasts, Voxels is still ongoing. The Art of Sysadmin has a planned second season at an undefined point in the future. At this rate it will most likely be 2025 before TAOS sees a new season.

Writing

Writing of course continues to be one of my favourite mediums of creative expression and I will continue to write for this blog and for the Ten Forward blog as creative sparks light so stay tuned. If you are a RSS kind of person, both of those blogs are of course available via RSS for your reading pleasure. This blog is also available in weekly digest newsletter form if that is more your speed.

Patronage

One of the big changes I have made over the last few months is that I am no longer ashamed or afraid of asking for help especially for money. Along those fronts, I have set up various methods of patronage for any of y’all who wish to do that. All the relevant links are available under the “Support Me” section on this brand spanking new page of links here.

As always, thank you everyone for your support, all of it means a lot to me.

A Revolutionary Conclusion

I truly feel like I am alive for the first time in my life and it is great. Life is good and I expect it to keep getting better. I am focused on improving and maintaining both my body and mind and that includes improving and building new relationships of all kinds.

Until next time comrades. Peace.
